1863 22 May 1863. The will of Charles Pile formerly of Westmeon but late of Lodge Farm in the parish of Boarhunt both in the county of Southampton Yeoman deceased who died 13 March 1862 at Lodge Farm aforesaid was proved at Winchester by the oaths of Elizabeth Pile of Freemantle in the said county Widow the Relict and Thomas Coles of Warnford in the same county Grocer two of the executors.
Handwritten side note: Revoked by Registrars Order 8 August 1874. A will and codicil both dated 17 December 1845 proved at the Principal Registry September 1874.

1874 2 September 1874. The will with a codicil of Charles Pile formerly of Westmeon afterwards of Exton but late of Lodge Farm in the parish of Boarhunt all in the county of Southampton Yeoman who died 13 March 1862 at Lodge Farm was proved at the Principal Registry by Elizabeth Pile of Beshampton in the said county widow the relict the surviving executor. The probate of a will dated 23 Nov 1843 granted at Winchester May 1843 having been revoked.

1875 16 November 1875. The will of William Pile late of Westmeon in the county of Southampton labourer who died 26 February 1874 at Westmeon was proved at Winchester by John Arnold of Westmeon Yeoman one of the executors. Effects under £100.

1909 Ellen Frances Pile of Littlehampton Sussex (wife of John Pile) died 25 May 1909 Administration Chichester 22 June to the said John Pile retired builder. Effects £1267 7s.

1912 Samuel Pile of New House Farm Firle Sussex died 5 August 1912 Probate Lewes 11 October to Sidney Pile and Thomas Pile farmers and Sarah Emma Pile widow. Effects £1963 10s 8d.

1915 William Pile of Littlehampton Sussex retired builder died 2 November 1914 Probate Chichester 26 January to Herbert William Pile carpenter and Horace John Pile builder's clerk effects £462 3s 7d.

1921 Lizzie Harriet Pyle of Pear Tree House, Burgess Hill, Sussex, spinster died 19 Jan 1921 Administration Lewes 12 August 1914 to William Pyle gentleman effects £125 0s 8d.

1926 Edwin James Pile of 68 Station Road Portslade-by-Sea Sussex died 2 October 1926 Probate Lewes 25 November to Martha Pile widow. Effects £1069 15s 4d.

1928 Henry Pile of Folkingham Lincolnshire died 22 January 1927 Probate London 21 March to Henry James Rose grocer and John Victor Neal saddler. Effects £303 18s 2d.

1929 Jane Pile of 21 St. Flora's Road Littlehampton Sussex widow died 29 December 1928 East Preston Sussex Probate London 19 March to Ernest Norton accountant £395 5s 9d.

1931 William Henry Pile of 28 Southview Road, Southwick, Sussex died 19 August 1931 Probate London 7 September to Barclays Bank Ltd £213 3s 6d.

1934 Jack Pile (otherwise John) of 21 St. Flora's Road Littlehampton Sussex died 21 January 1934 Probate London 9 March to Herbert William Pile bricklayer £776 1s 8d resworn £1076 1s 8d.

Henry Pile of Westbourne
THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me Henry Piles of Westbourne in the county of Sussex labourer ________ I give _________ my five freehold messuages or tenements gardens __________ and premises with __________ situate at Warnford in the county of Southampton and _______ in the ________ occupation of messrs Mansbridge Woodall Green Gregory and unto my respected friends Joseph Smith of Westbourne aforesaid merchant and Michael Turner of the same place yeoman their heirs and assigns but upon trust _________ the my said trustees or the survivor of them or the heirs and assigns of their survivors all and __ as soon as _________ may be after my bereave sell and dispose of my said (messuages) or tenements either by public sale or auction or by private contract to ____ person or persons as ____ all or may be willing to become the purchaser or purchasers thereof who having paid his her or their purchase ________ unto and obtained a receipt or receipts for that _____ from my said trustee or trustees shall thereby be acquitted and discharged of and from ______ _______ money as in ______ receipt or receipts shall be acknowledged or _______ to be ________ shall not be answerable or accountable for any loss misapplication nonapplicaton thereof And as to for ________ the sum or sums of money which shall arise or be received by or from such trustees or trustee for the Charles Pile of Chichester
This is the last Will and Testament of me Charles Pile of Littlehampton Sussex Master Mariner Whereby I give and bequeath all my real and personal estate wheresoever and whatsoever unto my wife Louisa Pile absolutely and I appoint the said Louisa Pile sole Executrix of this my Will in witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this thirteenth day of January one thousand eight hundred and sixty five Charles Pile Master Mariner signed and declared by the said Charles Pile the testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the joint presence of us who at his request and in his presence have hereunto subscribed our names as witness hereto Thomas Heward  John Heward In Her Majesty's Court of Probate The District Registry at Chichester In the goods of Charles Pile deceased

I John Heward of Littlehampton in the County of Sussex Shipowner make oath that I am one of the subscribing witnesses to the last Will and Testament of the said Charles Pile late of Littlehampton in the County of Sussex Master Mariner in the Merchant Service deceased the said Will being now hereunto annexed bearing date the thirteenth day of January 1865 and that the said testator executed the said Will on the day of the date thereof by signing his name at the foot or end thereof as the name now appears thereon in the presence of me and of Thomas Heward the other subscribed witness thereto both of us being present at the same time and we thereupon attested and subscribed the said Will in the presence of the said testator John Heward sworn at Littlehampton in the County of Sussex on the 19th day of May 1869 before me J. G. J Dally a Commissioner to administer oaths in Chancery in England

Proved at Chichester the 26th day of May 1869 by the oath of Louisa Pile Widow the Relict of the deceased the sole Executrix named in the said Will to whom administration was granted

The Testator Charles Pile was late of Littlehampton in the County of Sussex Master Mariner in the Merchant Service and died on the 7th day of November 1869 at Sea off the Scilly Islands.

David Pile of Falkingham
THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me David Pile of Falkingham in the County of Lincoln Gardener I direct that all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses be paid by me executor hereinafter named as soon as may be after my decease I bequeath all my personal estate and effects whatsoever and whersoever unto Edward John Grummitt of Falkingham aforesaid Farmer his executors administrators and assigns upon trust to pay the annual income thereof to my dear wife Mary Pile for her life and to pay and apply the principal money of my said trust estate for the benefit of my said wife in the discretion of my said executor and upon the death of my said wife to pay and divide any residue of my said trust estate unto and equally between and amongst all and every my child and children George Pile William Pile Edwin Pile Henry Pile Emma Pile and John Pile share and share alike I empower the trustee for the time being of this my Will to carry on any business in which I may be engaged at the time of my decease and to employ therin all or any part of my personal estate anf thereby declare that such trustee shall not be answerable or accountable for any involuntary loss to my said trust estate I devise all real estate vested in me as trustee or mortgagee unto the said Edward John Grummitt his heirs and assigns subject to the trusts and equities affecting the same respectively I appoint the said Edward John Grummitt trustee and executor of this my Will and hereby revoke all former Wills In witness wherof I the said David Pile the testator have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand this eleventh day of February 1879 --- DAVID PILE ----- signed by the said David Pile the testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us both then present together who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses ----- CHARLES LOCKTON 60 Castlegate Grantham -------- WILLIAM WHITE 69 Commercial Road Spittlegate

PROVED at London 26 May 1880 by the Oath of Edward John Grummitt the sole Executor to whom admon was granted.

George Pile of Chichester
This is the last Will and Testament of me George Pile of North Street in the City of Chichester Chemist and Druggist I direct all my just debts and funeral and ? expenses to be fully paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently may be after my decease I give devise and bequeath all my estate both real and personal whether in possession reversion remainder or expectancy or over which I have a disposing power by Will unto and to the use of my Wife Mary Jane Pile her heirs executors administrators and assigns absolutely and I appoint my said wife sole Executrix of this my Will and I revoke all prior Wills and declare this alone to be my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty eighth day of October one thousand eight hundred and seventy eight Geo. Pile Signed and declared by the above named George Pile the testator and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us (both present at the same time) who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other attested the same and have hereunto subscribed our names ??????? Proved at Chichester the 9th day of October 1879 by the Oath of Mary Jane Pile Widow the Relict of the deceased the sole Executrix named in the Will to whom administration was granted. The Right Honourable Sir James Hannen Knight the President of the Probate Divorce and Admiralty Division of the High Court of Justice having on the 1st day of July 1879 by his final Decree in a certain cause ? suit them depending entitled Pile v Pile and others pronounced for the force and validity of the said Will

The Testator George Pile was late of North Street in the City of Chichester Chemist and Druggist and died on the 7th day of November 1878 at North Street Chichester aforesaid
